  • Chaplain and Chair of Religious Life – Episcopal Day School is seeking experienced, qualified applicants for this position beginning July 1, 2012.  This is a key leadership position in a vibrant and historic PreK-8 Episcopal school in Augusta, GA.  In addition to overseeing prayer, worship, pastoral care, and religious education at EDS, the Chaplain provides critical leadership in school culture, service learning, and church and community relations.  As a vital member of the Administrative Team, the Chaplain works closely with the Head to help ensure that all aspects of school operations, planning, and decision-making reflect our Christian values and Episcopal identity. Ideal candidates will be ordained clergy and have significant experience – including teaching – working in school or youth settings.  At minimum, applicants should have an M.Div. or the equivalent, and at least three years of experience working with young people. The Interview Process

The school interviews those individuals seen as being most qualified for the given position. Candidates may be asked to return after a preliminary interview to speak with other members of the administration and/or faculty.

Episcopal Day School contacts references on applicants considered final candidates and may communicate with other sources to verify relevant information. The Headmaster makes all final decisions about employment and salary offers. The successful candidate receives a written contract.
