Serving Children of All Faiths Ages 2.5 - Eighth Grade

Encouraging and fostering inclusion, EDS views the contributions of children and families of many faith traditions as a source of richness and strength. We welcome students of all denominational and faith backgrounds at EDS and present the Christian faith in a way that is respectful to children of all backgrounds. We believe that our school's religious diversity is our strength.

Introducing a Second Language at an Early Age

EDS is the area's only independent school to introduce a second language in three-year-old classes. A strong foundation in Spanish shows higher scores in our eleven-year graduates' National Spanish Exam scores.

Integrating Technology into Daily Teaching and Learning

Episcopal Day School's substantial 1:1 technology program puts a portable computing device in the hands of every student. With individual iPads in grades one through four and MacBook Airs in fifth through eighth grade, this program accents interactivity in every classroom.

A Tradition of Champions

The EDS Panthers boast a long history of athletics rich in tradition. Offering organized athletics for every middle school-aged student, we strive to promote and develop individual skills and team dynamics, good sportsmanship, a sense of fair play, and pride in one's self and community.

Experiential Learning Opportunities for Every Age

Opportunities for hands-on, experiential education outside of the classrooms abound at EDS. Not content with creating "maker spaces" for individual classes or grade levels, EDS promotes a rich nature-based experiential education program across all grade levels and curriculum-wide through the near-daily use of our Flowing Wells Campus and other out-of-town field trips.

Foundations for Life

As a co-educational day school, EDS serves three year olds through eighth grade. Its goal is to provide an excellent education, within a Christian environment, that will help students to be academically prepared, intellectually curious, socially responsible, and spiritually aware as they enter high school.

Whether you are seriously considering your options or simply curious as to what an independent school can provide for your family, please inquire here and we will be in contact shortly.

Offering Daily Bus Service to/from Columbia County

Augusta is experiencing a market shift with the introduction of the new technology corridor. Our historic Walton Way Campus is fortunately poised en route to the new Cyber District for many families coming to town each day from western-Richmond and Columbia counties. For families whose commute does not bring them in close proximity to our campus, we offer bus service to and from Columbia County. Our buses are equipped with five-point safety restraints for our smallest riders, and our drivers are CDL certified.

Enhancing the Middle School Experience

In addition to the wide array of athletic opportunities throughout the school year, EDS students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of clubs and activities, including Student Council. As a nursery through grade 8 school, middle school students are given leadership roles and opportunities starting in fifth grade.

Enriching After School Opportunities

The school day doesn't have to end when classes are dismissed. Our After School program offers a multitude of enrichment courses focusing on a particular subject, and you don't even have to be an EDS enrolled student to register. Regular favorites include Mini Einsteins, a STEM-focused class for preschoolers, soccer for all ages, art, cooking adventures, lower school running club, and Tara Scheyer's Mudpuppy Music Class, a Mommy and Me style music class for children through age four.

1337 Flowing Wells Road: A Place to Grow

Since its purchase in the closing days of 2012, the Flowing Wells Campus has become an integral part of the EDS student experience. Each year faculty integrate new and increased hands-on, experiential learning in their lesson planning on the 30-acre campus because of the enormous benefit our students have enjoyed in just a short time.

“I am reminded of my childhood often and the wonderful years I spent at Episcopal Day School. Great teachers helped to foster a love of learning and allowed me to blossom and thrive as a youngster. EDS paved the way for me to attend a school like this, where all children are welcome and a stellar world-class education is yours, right here in Augusta.”

“I hope every kid gets the same experience I did: magical. At age 32, I still wish I was going to EDS!!”

“If all the schools could be even half as good as EDS, what a wonderful world it would be.”
