EDS Gives Excellent Performance at the 2019 CSRA Eco-Meet 

Eight EDS students competed at the 2019 CSRA Eco-Meet on Friday, 11.1.19, at Brick Pond Park in North Augusta and came home with a total of 9 awards, including the top 2 awards! The Eco-Meet was developed by ESEC “to promote awareness and enthusiasm for excellence in environmental education and stewardship”. EDS was represented by 2 teams of four students each, out of a total of 21 teams from area schools including Davidson Fine Arts, AR Johnson, Lakeside Middle, and Stallings Island, competing at hands-on environmental testing stations throughout the day. Please congratulate the members of Team 1: Trav W., Carolina R., Sara Beth T., and Fripp M. for their 1st Place Overall win! They also earned the following awards in specific areas: 1st Place Hydropower, 1st Place Pollinators, and 3rd Place Wetlands. Team 2 members: Charlie H., Matthew L., Molly G., and Thomas K. also deserve hearty congratulations for their 2nd Place Overall win! They earned the following awards in specific areas: 2nd Place Hydropower, 2nd Place Bird Biology, 2nd Place Wetlands, and 3rd Place Pollinators.

All the students agreed that this was an incredible experience! Their motivation and hard work certainly paid off.
