EDS Gets Colorful

October 4th was the perfect day for the COLOR RUN! The weather was beautiful! A perfect fall morning in Augusta, GA. The kids were so excited! They put on their tee-shirts and covered their faces with color run tatoos. The girls wore tutus and mixed matched knee-high socks. We headed down to the starting line at the Old Richmond Academy on Telfair street. The EDS students were everywhere!!! EDS had the largest team register with 80 runners (or walkers whichever suited you best).

The first group of runners were in place and the MC’s had the music blaring with t-shirts and Color Run freebies flying through the air, the excitement was electric!! And then we were off!! Runners to the left and walkers to the right. The kids were no where to be seen! Mine left me in the first 50 yards! I happily jogged to the first color station, GREEN,and held my breath and covered my nose with my shirt as they threw color powder all over me and the other runners passing by. We jogged through the flat downtown streets and passed through each color station; Orange, blue, yellow and pink( not necessarily in that order ). As we passed through the last station you could hear the music getting louder and you knew you were close!! Almost to the finish line!!

As you ran through the finish line a packet of color powder was handed to you. The music was loud and the kids where dancing and singing. Then a cloud of colored powder was everywhere!! It truly was the happiest 5K I have ever run. It was a perfect day. Until it was time to take a shower…
