Winter Athletic Season Information

Winter Athletic Season Information

As the fall season concludes we must turn our attention to the winter interscholastic season.  This winter we plan on having the following athletic teams:

  • Varsity Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball
  • Jr. Varsity Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball
  • Varsity Cheerleading
  • Varsity Boy’s & Girl’s Swimming

If your child is interested in participating on any one of these teams please make sure you attend the Winter Parent, Coach, Player meeting on Monday, October 21st at 6pm.  At this meeting you will meet the coaches and hear about the team tryout process and any other important sport specific information.

PLEASE NOTE: Parents whose child makes the basketball or cheerleading teams are required to help at home games.  You can sign up to work either the concession stand or the admission gate.  The Booster Club will be speaking more about this on Oct. 21st.  Thank you in advance for supporting the EDS Panther Athletic Program.

What do you need?

Athletes must wear EDS approved athletic wear for practice and tryouts.  Students should wear athletic shoes for tryouts.  Once basketball teams are formed students must wear proper basketball shoes for optimum protection.  Running shoes are not to be worn once tryouts are over.

Please attend the mandatory winter Parent/ Coach/ Player meeting on Monday, October 21st at 6pm in the gym. More information will be available at that time.  However, should you have any questions before then, feel free to email me at jcohen@edsaugusta.com or call me at 706-261-0111.
