Navigating the EDS New Website

 

This article is intended to help guide anyone trying to find key information on EDS’ new website. After reading this piece, you will be able to easily locate the “Panther Post,” calendar, EDS At-a-Glance, forms/information, Acolyte schedules, before/after school schedules, and the Annual Fund donation page. “Panther Post” (PP) is sent out weekly via email, and it contains important announcements and new information about EDS and its students. Once you are on the homepage of our website, you will see six categories near the top of the page; the words are the color blue. Something to remember is that you must click on the categories in order for a drop-down menu to reveal itself. The category on the very far right is entitled, “Panther Post.” Once you click on it, you will have two options from which to choose. You want to click “View All News.” Once clicked, you will have access to articles from the PP. You can read further into the articles by clicking on the + sign at the bottom of each story.

Calendars will be a very useful tool throughout the school year. While on the homepage, look above the categories we talked about in the “Panther Post” section. You will see four categories that are a light grey color. The second from the left is “Calendar.” You will want to click on that link. It will always display the current month along with events taking place on its given day. However, you can click on the right arrow button to take a look ahead. You can look at the events over the month, week, and day. You can also choose what type of event the month will display by clicking the drop-down menu. These tools are right below the name of the current month.

The At-a-Glance calendar for the 2018-2019 school year is on the same page as Calendars. If you look near the upper-left-hand corner (above the displayed calendar but below the word, “Events”), you will see a link entitled, “2018-2019 At-a-Glance.” Once clicked, you will be taken to a pdf document that has all holidays and special days laid out by month on one page.

In order to find Forms and Information needed by our current families, go to our homepage. From there you will want to click on “Current Families” near the top right corner of the page (one of the blue links). Secondly, you will want to click on “Forms and Information.” That link will take you to a page that contains any and every document you may need throughout the school year.

To find information on the students’ schedule for Acolytes, you will want to click on the category, “Current Families,” on the homepage. You will then click on “Forms and Information.” The tenth category from the top is entitled, “Acolyte Schedules.” This category is broken down into three subcategories displayed as the day and grade levels of our student acolytes for that day. Click on the link that you want, and it will display the acolyte schedule for the rest of the year along with the students who will be acolytes for a particular day.

To find the Before/After School Schedules and the After-School Enrichment Schedule, click on the blue colored category, “Schools & Programs,” located on the home page. The schedules are the fourth and fifth option from the top of the drop-down menu.

At the top of the homepage, you’ll find a grey colored category called “Support EDS” with a heart next to it. Clicking this link will take you to our online giving site for the Annual Fund. From here, you can choose to donate online via credit card.

Quick tip: If at any time you want to go back to the homepage from wherever you may be on the site, simply click the EDS banner in the upper left-hand corner of the page. Doing so will take you back to the homepage immediately.
