Fourth Grade and the Early Immigrants

The 4th graders have been studying early immigrants, learning how and why so many people wanted to come to the United States. Last week, students pretended to be an immigrant in the early 1900s and told us what they would bring on the voyage to America. Some students chose to do medical research instead, reporting to us about various diseases that would result in entry being denied at Ellis Island.
