A Big Crane for a Big Project

The fifth grade has been studying levers and pulleys. They are experts at identifying the three class of levers and four major pulley systems. As a culminating project, the students were given a variety of project ideas to build or study. One project called for a study of the uses of pulleys in a crane. Sam D. selected that project and his dad, Mike, had a boom truck brought to the school. Sam demonstrated his skills as he lifted and moved a heavy load. Exciting project!
