Fifth Grade Reflections on Moving up

IMG_9900

Fifth grade had their moving up ceremony last week, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. Each student wrote a reflection about their time in lower school, and this week, we’d like to highlight one student’s memories

“My earliest memories of EDS are from my first class in the 3s. I would like to share some with you. In the 3’s, I had Mrs Scroggs and Mrs. Arthur. I sat on the corner of the purple section on the rug. I remember the jobs, and my favorite job was the snack helper. In PK, I remember having the letter bag and having the card with our picture on it. If we wanted to go to a certain station, we had to put our card on that station. My teachers were Mrs. Markwalter and Mrs. Neely. In Kindergarten, My teachers were Mrs. Marr and Ms. Harper. I remember having some parents come in and talk about their jobs. I also remember studying the rainforest.

“In first grade, I had Mrs. Ford and Ms. Powell. We did the number scroll and read Magic Tree House. I clearly remember when we would count how many times Mrs. Ford sneezed. In second grade, I had Mrs. McCrary and Ms. McCollough. On the weekends we would take home the monkey, Willie B. I also remember DOW, Island mart, and the dot chart. In third grade,  my teacher was Mrs.Norville. We went to Mrs. Byrd’s Farm. We had poetry with Mrs. Veale and Famous Faces. In fourth grade, my teacher was Mrs. Dill. We went to rock eagle and had chicken fingers   almost every day. My dad was one of the chaperones and when we went canoeing he flipped! Finally in fifth grade we have participated in carpool duty, flag duty, panther pals, solar oven the “solarbration” and the musical, High School Musical.

“EDS has been great fun but now I know it is time to go to middle school I can not wait to find out who my advisor will be!”
