La Tuna Universitaria de Salamanca Performance

_JLC8499

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th through October 15th. This year we celebrated this event with a very special treat all the way from Salamanca, Spain. On Wednesday, October the 8th, 1st-8th grade students enjoyed a music show from La Tuna Universitaria de Salamanca (Salamanca University’s Tuna).

A “tuna” is a group of Spanish university students that voluntarily perform traditional music in Spanish. Dressed in traditional academic fashion, they perform to earn money to pay their school expenses.

This group of students is in Augusta in connection with the Hispanic festival and we were privileged to have them perform for us.

¡Feliz Dia de la Hispanidad!
