Faces of Carpool: Charlene Dockery

Welcome to “Faces of Carpool!” In our weekly Panther Post, we are highlighting the amazing faculty and staff that you see each morning and afternoon in carline, but may not know exactly what their role is at EDS. If you do know them, this is also a great way to learn something new! Today’s “Face of Carpool” is Charlene Dockery, our Second Grade Assistant!

What does daily life look like for you at EDS?

For me daily life at EDS is a busy schedule of great balance – meaning there is a wonderful balance of academics, play, socializing all while keeping Christ at the center of all we do!

Favorite thing about working at EDS?

My favorite thing about working at EDS is seeing all the happy, friendly faces of staff and students.  This is a happy, loving place and it shows in all the smiles – even through masks ;-). It’s also so exciting to see the success and growth of our students from year to year.  (for example – I taught Greyson Sigg in second grade (2003) who is now playing golf professionally.). And of course he was on the golf team during his time here at EDS.

Favorite thing about carpool? 😉

My favorite thing about car pool is seeing all the families of the students I’ve taught in past years.  It’s also important for each child to begin their school day on a positive note.  So having a friendly, smiling staff member greeting them at their car is a great way to begin the school day.

Leave us with a fact about you:

One fact about me – in my youth I was a ballet dancer.  Even though I no longer dance, I love exercising and keeping in shape.  I enjoy going to Oxygen Fitness Studio in Surrey Center where they offer a variety of fun classes.
