Welcome to “Faces of Carpool!” In our weekly Panther Post, we will be highlighting the amazing faculty and staff that you see each morning and afternoon in carline, but may not know exactly what their role is at EDS. If you do know them, this is also a great way to learn something new! Our first “Face of Carpool” is Stephanie Woodward, our Registrar and Database Manager. She has been with EDS since 2012 and is the mother of two of our alumni, Nan ’16 and Reed ’21.
What does daily life look like for you at EDS?
As Registar and Database Manager, daily life revolves around data, data, and more data! I run two databases: our student information system (BigSIS), and an alumni/donor database (Raiser’s Edge). Work includes: generating transcripts; enrolling students in classes; crunching numbers for Admissions and Advancement; setting up report cards; troubleshooting grade entry and attendance issues; alumni events; and keeping our alumni and donor info up to date. Every day is different and interesting mostly due to various data requests from Division Heads, Advancement Director, Admissions Director, Athletic Director, Nurse, teachers, and parents. I enjoy interacting with our faculty, parents, and alumni. Data management is like working on a really good never ending puzzle. Y’all keep me on my toes!!!
Favorite thing about working at EDS?
Fabulous colleagues!!! And, as a former EDS parent, getting to know my kid’s teachers has been fun and rewarding.
Favorite thing about carpool? 😉
Watching the looks of elation on 4th graders faces once they master flag duty!
Leave us with one interesting fact about you:
I owned an antique store in between careers in cable television and Advancement.
