Preparing for Spring at the FWC Garden


Last week the fourth and fifth grades visited FWC to kick off our spring growing season.  Fourth graders participated in their final 4H class and learned about the benefits of worms and how they create healthy soil in the garden.  This was an appropriate lesson as we had another 14 cubic yards of soil delivered to begin construction of more raised bed gardens.  Fifth graders added new compost to freshen up our existing gardens and planted 8 beds with snow peas and sugar snap peas.  With a little help from Mother Nature, we hope to have delicious treats by spring break.

More compost at the Flowing Wells Campus Garden means we’re preparing for spring fruits and vegetables. Check back for updates on what our students will be planting.
