Second Grade Embraces Indian Culture

Second graders enjoyed a real treat last Friday!  Indumathi Manoharan, Sangha Manicassamy’s mom came for a visit.  She shared her Indian culture with a Keynote presentation including a map of Indian and photos of famous historical landmarks.  The children enjoyed tasting delicious Indian food, learning songs and games that children of India play, and seeing Indumathi dressed in her beautiful traditional sari.
She made Indian rice and dahl for the class.  She shared some videos of Indian children’s games.  She also had a slide show with a map of India.  She is from a southern state called Tamil Nadu.  Her native language is called Tamil.  She also wore a beautiful sari – tradition Indian dress.  The second graders asked some great questions, really learned a lot, and enjoyed her visit!
