5th Grade on Constitution Day
During the fifth grade year, students study the American Revolution and the Constitution of the United States of America. Each year, the fifth grade class of Episcopal Day School is invited to celebrate Constitution Day by the Augusta Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. On Tuesday, September 13, 2016 fifth graders witnessed the wreath laying ceremony of Col. William Few Jr., Georgia’s signer of the Constitution. During the nation’s Bicentennial in 1976, his remains were moved from New York to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery. They also experienced a proper American flag retirement ceremony and musket salute.
