6th Graders and New MS Students Receive Their Bibles
A new tradition, now in its second year, bibles are distributed to all 6th and any new 7th or 8th grade students, in the first middle school chapel of the year. The bookplate inside indicates that the bibles are presented “for faithful use in middle school religion classes,” and that it indeed their purpose. It is our hope that students will develop helpful habits of reading the bible for both devotional and learning purposes, and that they will feel free making meaningful notes in these, their own personal copy of the scriptures. In accordance with this years theme, bibles were presented last week following a reminder that (as we have been learning about the “care and feeding” of our new electronic devices) the Holy Scriptures are “truth devices,” and that they will feed and care for us as we establish our firm foundations upon them.
