Coach Clint Bryant Speaks at MLK Chapel
On Thursday, January 22, Coach Clint Bryant spoke to EDS’s third through eighth grade students at our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. chapel service. Coach Bryant has been the Athletic Director of Georgia Regents University (formerly Augusta State University) for the past 27 years. During that time, he has established himself as one of the top leaders and advocates for equality in Georgia, the Southeast, and our nation. In college, Coach Bryant was a standout basketball player and has been inducted into the Belmont Abbey College Hall of Fame.
During his talk, Coach Bryant shared his philosophy on optimism and his faith in God. He also shared stories about his background and overcoming obstacles through the help of a mentor. Even during hard times, his mentor gave Coach Bryant encouragement. As a result, Coach Bryant asked the student body to make efforts to encourage others. His message is consistent with my personal experience attending Coach Bryant’s basketball camps over the years. He has given me much encouragement and has been a mentor to many young boys and girls. Our school is thankful for Coach Bryant’s visit and message.
