Congratulations Anne Carter!
Congratulations to Anne Carter C. (7th grade) for receiving 2nd place in her division in the 36th annual Agnes Markwalter Youth Art Competition! This ambitious art competition took place at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art and was open to all K-12 private and public schools in Aiken, Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, and Richmond Counties. Anne Carter carved a stamp of her self portrait and submitted a series of colorful prints to fit the theme of the competition this year, “Make it Pop.” The reception and awards ceremony was held on March 4 and Anne Carter received a certificate, ribbon, and small sum of money for her outstanding piece of artwork. Great job to William B. (7th grade) and Jack A. (7th grade) who also participated in this competition. Anne Carter’s artwork is on display at the Gertrude Herbert Institute until April 3 for those who are interested in checking it out. Proud of you, Anne Carter!
