Enhancing World Religions Studies in the Eighth Grade
To enhance their study of the world’s religions, the eighth graders visited the Islamic Center of Augusta last week. Imam Jamal, our gracious host, offered a tour of the beautiful facility and then engaged students in a lively discussion about the history, beliefs, and practices of Islam. The eighth grade religion curriculum is intended to provide the kind of understanding of other faiths that will help us to have respect for all our neighbors. Following the trip, students expressed gratitude and a commitment to seek truth in the face of stereotypes.
