Seventh Grade “Hobbits”

This winter, my seventh grade literature students read J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. I thought a creative presentation would be a fun way for students to project their understanding of this intricate novel. Each student was free to choose what medium to use in their presentation, such as video, song, art, etc.

I was quite pleased with all of the students’ presentations. Here is a fun sampling of their work…

With the help of this brother Jack, Charles M. filmed his own hilarious spin on the showdown between Bilbo and Gollum.

Ezra B. put his drawing skills to work and created these wonderful pictures of (name??) according to the descriptions within the novel.

Nicole A., Salley W., and Kate L. wrote and performed an impressive “Hobbit Rap” that explains the entire plot!
