Panther Nation 10/17/13

Over the past week the Panthers were on the prowl.

Our Panther volleyball team was the top seed in their bracket for the league tournament.  They got into an all-out cat fight with the Panthers from Mead Hall in the championship match.  These two teams went paw-to-paw playing five games in the best of five series.  All five games were close and could have gone either way.  In the fifth and final game our Panthers pinned their ears back and snarled at the competition and snatched the championship!

Speaking of championships, our Panther golf team took on the Saints, Lions, Cavaliers, and Cougars in the league tournament over two days.  In this mauling, the Panthers took down the competition like a wounded buffalo. The Panthers won the title by five strokes over the Saints from St. Mary’s on the Hill. We had two members finish in the top three over all in the individual awards. In all there were 30 golfers in the championship.

The EDS Panthers cross country teams left our territory and ventured out of the jungle for the GISA state championships at Statford Academy in Macon, GA. They marked their territory and stalked down the competition with both teams taking 4th place overall.  They competed against 20 other schools and over 100 runners in each race.

Next up!

Next up for the fall season is the football team’s season finale at Augusta Prep on Wednesday, October 23, at 6pm.  The tennis teams will be in the league tournament Wednesday, October 23, at Newman Tennis Center starting at noon.

Support your Panthers! Grrrr.
