Panther Nation: The Spring Lowdown!

Panther Nation, what a season we had!  Our Panthers trained, practiced and sharpened their skills all season long.

The baseball team played valiantly with great pitching and lively bats throughout the spring.  With an overall record of 4 wins and 4 losses, they ended in 3rd place.  This also earned them a spot in the semifinals of the league tournament .  Our 8th graders, Justin K., Palmer B., and Scout W., were not only strong at play, but lead the team in sportsmanship, mental strength, and provided a strong foundation for continued success!

Our track Panthers, both boys and girls teams, ran swiftly and performed admirably all season long.  There were over 40 pack members between the two teams!  Overall, both track packs finished in 2nd place at the League Championship Meet. The sibling duo of Nicole and Nathan A. led the pride – both winning top honors as top scorers of the meet.  We also had a third place scorer, Michael C.. Our Panthers showed the league who was boss.  Grrrr!  Our 8th grade leadership came from Allie R., Nathan D., Michael C., Mathurin D., Huck B., Kai N., McCall S. and William M.

In soccer our boys and girls Panther prides were fleet of foot, and fleet of foot with a ball too!  Both the girls and boys teams had undefeated regular seasons!

The girls record of 5 wins, 0 losses and 3 ties put them in a tie for 1st place.  They only gave up 4 goals all season!  They met their match in the semifinals losing 1 – 0 to St. Mary’s. Eighth graders Emilee S. and Lucy S. were instrumental in guiding our Pantheresses in skill and endurance, and showed all opponents that the EDS Panthers have a powerful Rooaaarrr!

The boys finished with 8 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie. This group of panthers never surrendered a single goal all season.  At the league championship, they defeated the Saints of St. Mary’s on the Hill with a score of 2–0.  Grrrooowwwwllll!  In true EDS fashion, our 8th graders Evan M. and Crimmins H. lead the pack in skill, endurance, and sportsmanship.
