Winter Athletics Wrap Up

What a great winter season our student-athletes just completed – they made the Panther Nation proud!  Our Panthers swam, dribbled, shot, and cheered their hearts out all season.

The swim team, led by new coach Paige Harper, improved on their cat-like speed and skill in the pool as they competed in several local meets and put down some personal best times.
The sharp-shooting Panther basketball teams had had awesome seasons.  The JV girls worked hard and dramatically improved their skills and understanding of the game.  The JV boys ran all over their prey, finishing with 8 wins and only 1 loss!  The Varsity girls team stumbled out of the gate this season, but quickly got up to speed and rattled off 9 straight wins and finished ranked fourth in the regular season Augusta-Aiken Middle School League standings.  In the league tournament, the Lady Panthers finished in the final four and lost to the eventual tournament winner.  These Panthers out-hustled their challengers all season. The Varsity boys team was as primed as could be for the season.  They went into the tournament in second place with a 10-2 record, and avenged one of these losses in the semifinals with a big win over Heritage Academy.  However, Hillcrest Baptist proved to be too much in a hard-fought championship game.  These boys had a very exciting season.
Finally, the EDS cheerleaders continued to rock the house and cheered all-season with amazing EDS pride.  They are hands-down the best squad in the league, and from great cheers to awesome stunts, nobody can match their spirit and drive.
Thank you to all of our teams for making the Panther Nation proud!
