The Defense Rests!

Sixth graders read the historical novel, Summer of My German Soldier. It is set in 1942 in Jenkinsville, Arkansas.  Patty Bergen, the protagonist, is a Jewish girl who befriends a German POW.  Patty is charged with treason. To bring the drama to life, the students held a mock trial!

Watch them present their oral arguments. Will the defense win or will it be the prosecution?
