Too sick for school?

Wondering if your kiddo is too sick for school? Here is a little cheat sheet.

FEVER
Children with fever of 100.00 or above should stay home until fever free for 24 hours without medication.

DIARRHEA/VOMITING
One event of watery diarrhea or more than one event of vomiting are reasons to keep your child home. If vomiting or diarrhea continues or is accompanied with a rash or fever, call your doctor.

PINK EYE
If your child’s eye is red with cloudy or yellow drainage, he should stay home. Call your doctor for treatment.

HEAD LICE
Remember to perform weekly home lice checks. The National Association of School Nurses has useful information to aid in identifying and treating lice and dispelling myths. Click here for more information.

GENERAL SYMPTOMS
You should keep your child home if he might spread a contagious disease to another or if he is too sick to get through the school day.

Please feel free to email or call me any time you have a question.
